How the Kitting and Assembly System by Atlantic Diving Supply is an Effective Logistics Solution
Putting together a package from various components and getting it to the destination as quickly as possible should be the goal of a company's logistics solution. However, accuracy also plays a part, and no package should be shipped incomplete or without the correct parts. Atlantic Diving Supply (ADS) has developed a logistics solution combining swiftness and accuracy from which all shipping and distribution services should take note.
Atlantic Diving Supply is known for an extensive selection of operational and tactical equipment and contractual vehicles, and these aspects are put together through logistics solutions. Shortening the logistics pipeline, ADS provides organizations – branches of the military, government, and law enforcement – with equipment and supplies from a single source. Most equipment, from over 2,500 manufacturers, is kept in one of multiple warehousing facilities and, when a package needs to be made, kitting and assembly services put various parts together. Warehousing and inventory management is the core of any logistics strategy. This method should go beyond a storing and transportation solution and always be ahead with the latest technology. Atlantic Diving Supply uses their multiple warehouses for researching, developing, procuring, managing, and distributing equipment. With 150,000 square feet of space for storage, the warehouses keep up with various mission requirements for Special Operational Equipment TLS Program, GSA Schedules, and DOD Emall contracts.
Kitting and assembly involve putting these various components together. In the case of Atlantic Diving Supply, this means putting together packages of equipment that meet or exceed mission requirements. Large or small packages are assembled with the same approach. The GEN III clothing system for the Army is one example is a large order, while kits of medical supplies or individual unit orders represent the smaller end. All packages are double checked and inspected before shipping, and this approach results in 99-percent accuracy.
For Atlantic Diving Supply, all types of equipment are stored in warehouses and assembled into packages. Apparel, bags and packs, cases and containers, climbing equipment, communications devices, fire and emergency equipment, hydration equipment, medical supplies, personal protection, Diving Equipment, and weapons accessories can all be assembled into a kit for military, government, law enforcement, or firefighting professionals.
