How tight should you grip a hockey stick when receiving a pass?

Should you grip it really tight and just bring the blade back with the puck as it's hitting your stick or should you keep a somewhat loose grip so it will absorb the force and make catching the puck easier? Thanks

You shouldn't grip it tight. What happens when you grip it tight the puck just bounces off. There is a term called "soft hands". You want soft hands when receiving a pass. So grip the stick loosely. But not to loose to where your stick gets knocked out of your hands.
