We are developed beings who are gifted with color visions. We are able to distinguish and differentiate properly between different wavelengths and frequencies of light. We have two different types of photoreceptor cells which help us to distinguish between color and day/night visions.

Cone cells are receptive towards the visible spectrum of light while rod cells are responsible for the day and night vision. A green mango actually does not reflect green light but it absorbs all the other colors except for green. After staying in that room for a considerable amount of time you will notice that your eyes can discern the objects kept in that room. Now again when you enter a lighted room your eyes will adjust by constricting so that less light enters the eyes. If too much light enters now, then chances are high that you may get blinded.
