Mirror lens or regular super zoom lens?
Hi I would like to know the difference between mirror lens and regular super zoom lens (like those 500-1000mm) or more. I'm think to get either one for my Canon 50D. so please let me know.

Mirror lenses are very lightweight, cost very little, and lack chromatic abberation because of its mirror design. However, they are not mechanically made to the standards of a "regular", or refractive telephoto lens. Furthermore, it's small aperture of f/8 usually puts sports out of the question. In a intense sunny day, it's adequate, but for anything else, you'll most likely resort to a tripod.
So in the end, it comes down to what are your priorities.
You can get a $200 500mm mirror lens.
or
$3000 for a refractive equivalent.
