Which ski racing discipline has the most injuries?
I'm sort of thinking it's Downhill or Super G. Is injury common for ski racers? Can you ski race and not get injured? Do the pros have to compete in all disciplines or can they do something like not compete in downhill but do the other ones?
First of all, you are right super G and Downhill have the highest injury rate. it is also pretty common to be injured as a ski racer, especially around the knee area. It is possible to ski race and not get injured but it is unlikely especially when you get more aggressive in the course. to answer the final question yes ski racer at the higher levels choose what disciplines to compete in, most do either the speed disciplines (downhill and super G) or the technical disciplines (GS, and Slalom) there are a few extremal talented pros that Excel in all events but they are extreamly rare.
